JOY as a companion/pet

JOY is very loyal but sensitive girl, she loves attention, especially individual attention. Joy prefers to deviate around strangers until she has accepted them, then she shows off her true nature. A JOYFUL attitude.

JOY as a working dog

Joy was sold to a shepherdess in the spring of 2010 and has worked as a flock dog on several thousand sheep.

She is pushy and powerful, will not back down from sheep. will go into the tightest corners and loves working in the sheep handling pens.

Joy has BIG natural outruns and flanks, which will require polishing for sheepdog trials.

She will work and pass sheep on the road and ride on a quad bike.

A very good all round sheepdog.

Joy is the fourth generation of my special line of bitches going back to Eryri Nan my foundation bitch. I have already a litter sister (Astra Jet) and a litter brother (Astra Guy). Their sire Aled Owen's World Champion BOB needs no introduction and has estabilished himself as a great breeder.

Joy has returned to me as her owner has decided to run ONLY male dogs, and through no fault of her own.

Joy will SUIT a :

  • Lady Handler
  • Young Handler
  • or someone who really wants a loyal friend, worker and trials companion.
This video shows Joy working five sheep, she is used to working 250 or more heavy Texel types. She is too pushy but still has potential for Trials with polishing. She has only been back with me for several weeks and has not yet developed a true partnership with me.

More photo's and video's will be placed here during the next week leading up to the Skipton Sheepdog Sale on the 22nd July 2011.
