RUBY as a companion/pet
RUBY is good natured, wanting to please, she loves company.
She is used to living indoors in a crate in the Kitchen.
Ruby does not like quad bikes, but we are working on this and she will now get on and sit on one, slowly she is getting used to staying on whilst it is moving.
She also does not enjoy kennel life and would benefit from being a member of a family, she is fine with other dogs.
She runs aimlessly up and down the yard, and is only quiet and relaxed when there are no other dogs outside.
We bought Ruby as potential new blood for our breeding program and was not told that she had this tendancy.
Whilst staying alone at our new home, with only two other dogs, Ruby was completely relaxed and happy to chill out on the porch or relax in the office.
It is such a shame for us, but it is better for Ruby to find a one to one family life where she can work sheep on a daily basis.
RUBY as a working dog
A stylish dog, with good pace and feel for her sheep.
She will work for anyone, has a good stop and very responsive.
She is not afraid to go into the corners to get his sheep.
She is currently learning her direction commands and extending her outruns and learning to drive.
I believe that she would be an asset on light sheep. She would suit a quiet but firm handler or even a young handler wanting to do trials.
